Moses & Taps
Biography
Moses & Taps is an artist collective that was originally founded by the two artists Moses and Taps and now includes everything from trainwriters to “expressionists”. Their drive is to overcome the stagnation in the expressive possibilities of graffiti and to push the boundaries of their art further.
The artistic roots of Moses and Taps can be found in the graffiti of the 1990s. They have been working in public spaces since 1994. In 2007, they joined forces to form the collective MOSES & TAPS™, in which an undefined number of artists now work together. Outside of the graffiti cosmos, the artists’ collective attracted widespread attention when they painted a deceptively realistic replica of a train door in 2010, which the railroad only noticed after several journeys. They became internationally known five years later with their work The Wall, for which they had a walled-up S-Bahn train travel through Hamburg. Today, MOSES & TAPS™ exhibit their conceptual and avant-garde, often graffiti-inspired artworks in galleries and museums worldwide. Moses & Taps collaborated with URBAN NATION for Project M/11 in 2017.
