Post Graffiti, 2024

Spray paint on steel and PVC, 800 cm x 280 cm x 30 cm

Moses & Taps is a German artist collective duo, founded in 2007 by the two artists Moses and Taps. Together they have radically expanded graffiti by creating satirical actions and have led graffiti writing in completely new directions both formally and conceptually, with installations and actions within the urban environment and in the gallery context. Their signature colors of cyan blue and yellow are their trademark, as is their acronym TM for Trademark and Taps-Moses. Their first book International Topsprayer, published in 2011, is Germany’s top-selling graffiti book.

Their new work Post-Graffiti (2024) has been created specifically for the exhibition and is a prime example of how they transfer graffiti to a new medium. The parcel delivery truck has been deconstructed and the PVC tarpaulin, inspired by covered freight trains, has been expanded and extruded to create a folded graffiti painting. Parcel delivery trucks are embedded within the city, and in times of proliferating online orders, you just might find a new work of art in front of your house.
