Rocco and His Brothers, the artist collective from Berlin rooted in graffiti writing, are known for their installations in public spaces, which they have carried out since 2016. Known as “art activists,” they create provocative installations with a social framework.

The Fallen is a series of four angels. Three of the angels are archangels made from parts of New York City subway cars from the 1980s. At that time, the first wave of the graffiti movement was at its peak. The fourth angel in the series, The Fallen, is composed of elements of Berlin S-Bahn trains that were in operation during the heyday of the Berlin Writers’ Bench at Friedrichstrasse station in the 1980s and 1990s.
